“The Comedy Jam” is an upcoming show on Comedy Central where comedians talk about a song that’s important to them, and then the artist that recorded that song comes onstage and performs it.

Among the list of comedians already set to appear are Bobby Lee, Jay Pharaoh, Jesse Tyler-Ferguson, and Chris Hardwick. Among the musicians set to appear are Rob Halford of Judas Priest, Chester Bennington of Linkin Park, Sebastian Bach formerly of Skid Row, and guitarist Phil Collen of Def Leppard.

Apparently, there’s already a Comedy Central show that exists that’s similarly structured and titled. “The Goddamn Comedy Jam” is also a show where comedians get on stage and talk about an important song to them, but here it’s the comedian that sings the song after talking. This upcoming show seems to be an upgraded version of that, with the actual musicians playing the song.

The Comedy Jam premiers on March 22 (EST), and as of this writing they haven’t released a trailer or anything that would give us a taste of what this show will be like. All we have now are episodes of The Goddamn Comedy Jam, which is probably pretty much the same.
