Speak The Truth Premiere New Track 'Drowning On The Sidewalk Or Dying Inside'
Senses Fail + Finch group Speak The Truth… Even If Your Voice Shakes have premiered another track off their upcoming debut album ‘Everyone You Love Will Slip Away From You’.
Here’s “Drowning On The Sidewalk Or Dying Inside”, which premiered recently on Loudwire:
Senses Fail and Speak The Truth… frontman Buddy Nielsen tells Loudwire that the track is “a little tongue in cheek response” to how a lot of fans were upset about him changing tones through Senses Fail’s more positive and emotional lyrics in the last two albums, and “how it was better when I am depressed, or more relatable when I wrote songs about sadness or drinking”. He also shares that the song is about his wife suffering a miscarriage.
“It is a conversation I'd like to have with my unborn child, that depending on what you believe, was either never alive or fully alive. Either way it is my attempt at making peace with it while also fulfilling peoples' wishes of writing songs from a darker more depressing place. Sort of asking fans, 'Are you happy that I have suffered a tragedy so that you can now have more relatable lyrics?' But trying to do so in a humorous way, if that is at all possible. That is why I chose one of the poppier songs to frame such a dark topic,” Buddy goes on to tell Loudwire, adding that he has been listening to a lot of Morrissey at the time.
‘Everyone You Love Will Slip Away From You’ is now up for pre-order exclusively through online music platform PledgeMusic. It comes out on November 10th, featuring previously released singles “Crash My Car” and “Go For The Throat”:
