Sacred Son Gains Notoriety for Cover Art

Extreme metal album covers can get pretty dark and gruesome. With all the notorious album covers we’ve seen through the years, it’s no surprise that, nowadays, the best way to get people talking is to go the opposite direction. Sacred Son, a London-based atmospheric one-man black metal band, understands this. That’s why the cover for his eponymous debut EP is the one you see below:

Without the band logo, this just looks like some guy’s photo from vacation. Some have said negative things about this, while some think it’s pretty cool. Others point out that it’s actually a really good black metal record, reinforcing Sacred Son’s point: it doesn’t matter what it looks like. It’s the music that counts.
