Dragonforce Covering Death's 'Evil Dead' for Upcoming Album
(From Dragonforce’s Facebook page)
Dragonforce is getting a lot heavier than they already are in their upcoming album “Reaching Into Infinity” as they will cover the song “Evil Dead” by the legendary death metal band Death from their album “Scream Bloody Gore.” The song will be on the album as a bonus track. This was revealed by guitarist Herman Li in an interview with That Drummer Guy. Here’s what he said:
"Well, I guess we just wanted to do something different and unexpected. No one expected us to do a cover like that. Just like when we did the Johnny Cash cover on Maximum Overload, people were going, 'What the hell is that?' And, of course, we love Death — it's such an awesome, legendary band — so we thought we'd try and see if we can do it justice and give our own style to it. And at the same time, this opens… When you do something different that you haven't done before, you put new challenges and you kind of get better when you finish it. No one ever heard Marc sing that way before on previous albums, and it helps us grow and finetune our other techniques."
