August Burns Red rocks Pulp’s February 2012 Issue

Pulp Summer Slam is back and just around the corner! This February issue, we bring you our first Pulp Summer Slam band cover featuring American metalcore quintet August Burns Red! This cover art designed by Raymund Marzan is a caricature of the Pennsylvanian group, who happened to be performing in Manila for the very first time on April 28, 2012 at the Amoranto Stadium, along with 11 other bands – 5 of which are Arch Enemy, Blessthefall, Darkest Hour, Periphery and We Came As Romans. Read on as Pulp editor-in-chief, Joey Dizon, interviews frontman Jake Luhrs about touring, recording, and their upcoming show in Manila.

The year 2011 ended with banged heads and bruise limbs when Australian band Parkway Drive performed at the Amoranto Theater in Quezon City. These crazy Australians sure know how to have a good time and the guys even joined the moshpit with instruments in tow during one of their songs! See the exclusive coverage complete with inside story from road manager, Karen Sy, and photos you won’t see anywhere else!

The insanely beautiful Marie Digby graces our pages in a tell all interview with music editor, Cris Ramons. See her in all her gorgeousness in a four-page spread shot on location at the Victoria Court, Pasig branch. More local music coming your way with Reklamo, as the trio releases new album, Best Served Cold. Moreover, we bring you three top corporate executives who happened to be heavy metal geeks: Atticus King, Jay Estaris, and Bong Borbe – and they are here to tell you that heavy metal never dies.

More stories and more interviews as we bring you three special features in this issue! Friendly Fire Records CEO, Dan Koplowitz shares his inside on the music industry in 13 Questions, Tennessee-born quintet Straight Line Stitch also did an exclusive interview with us, Dott Seki of Skies of Ember shares his taste in music in The Hour That Changed My Life.

More bands featured in this issue such as Metallica, Read Our Lines, March the Sky, and main review with Slapshock, who’s back with a new album, Kinse Kalibre.

Last but not the least, Paolo Gregoletto of Trivium and Mike Schleibaum of Darkest Hour continue to share their adventures on tour!
