Just last year, Lamb of God performed in front of 35,000 heavy metal fans at the Pulp Summer Slam festival held at the Amoranto Stadium in Manila, Philippines. Next year is a new revelation as Lamb of God returns to Manila to promote their new album Resolution, which is scheduled for release in January of 2012. Performing in tandem with Lamb of God in their Manila show is The Black Dahlia Murder, who will be supporting them for the first time. In an interview with TBDM drummer Shannon Lucas, he mentioned that this gig was something that the band has been waiting for. “This is the first time that we will be supporting Lamb of God and we wanted to do something like this for a long time,” said Lucas in an interview with Pulp Magazine, the biggest rock magazine in the Philippines.
Lucas added that Lamb of God is one of the bands that the guys from TBDM admire and have very high respects for. “They are a by-the-book metal band. They came out and didn’t do what was trendy at the time. They just played straight-up metal and everybody saw it for what it was and that’s what we like.” Although they are not on tour together, Lamb of God and The Black Dahlia Murder will be doing tour dates in Southeast Asia in the month of February 2012. However, both bands will meet in Manila for the February 18, 2012 show at the World Trade Center in Manila – it will be the only show in Southeast Asia that both bands will be performing together. “It’s an honor to support Lamb of God. I can only imagine how huge that show would be,” Lucas added.
The Black Dahlia Murder is currently on tour, promoting their latest album Ritual, which was released this year, selling over 31,000 copies in its first week. When asked about what their itinerary looked like for 2012, Lucas answered that the band is not certain at this time but they want to cover as much territories as possible. “A lot of it is still in the stage of being completely put together. The itinerary I have is rough so I can’t really say for sure. But definitely we will be pretty busy and there will most likely be a US headliner tour planned. I believe we are going to Australia as well. There’s a lot of stuff so it is also kind of important to hit a lot of the areas while we are over there.”
