One of the trickiest and curious things with bands who’ve changed line-ups for several times is this – is it better to opt for a complete rebrand or stick to the name the band is known for? At what point is the band a band? Is it the music they make or the members that make the music? In the story of INDAYBOTE, they opted keeping the name. In this case, guitarist and surviving member Lloyd Cunanan points out “One may argue that; yes, definitely a name could really only get you so far, it is the music that keeps you alive in the airwaves. To the purist this may make sense, but really, I guess the real question is, at what point is a band a brand? And I don’t even mean solely external. We decided to stick with the name because it gave us, people who barely knew each other, something to rally behind. To some extent, this was the first mutual agreement we had, thus why throw away?”
