Alexi Laiho Rocks PULP’s October Issue Cover

For the month of October, Pulp features Children of Bodom frontman, Alexi Laiho, on the cover. The Finnish metal band will be coming to Manila for the very first time to perform on November 19, 2011 at the Amoranto Theater. They also recently released their newest album Relentless Reckless Forever, which went Platinum in their home country. This is the third consecutive time that COB released a number 1 album in Finland and this year, they are bringing their music over to our shores! Read on as Pulp writer Karen Sy recounts her experience with COB plus an exclusive interview with “Wild Child” Alexi Laiho.

Also in the October issue is the newest project of MCA Universal, jazz singer Tricia Garcia, who was interviewed by our music editor Cris Ramos. Read on as Tricia shares her roots and experiences as an aspiring singer. There are more girl power features in this issue as female-fronted progressive rock band, Fuseboxx, grace a four-page spread to promote their sophomore album, Animated.

In the occasion of Halloween, we bring you stories and photos of the most haunted rock bars in Manila. Karl De Mesa explores our favorite weekend hangouts and tells the hair raising stories as told by owners and waitresses who happened to have paranormal experiences while on the job.

Over on our celebrity columnists side, Mike Schleibaum tells a very weird but hilarious experience while on tour with black metal band Belphegore. Paolo Gregoletto on the other hand answered random questions from Filipino fans about their latest album, In Waves and other odd questions that failed to weird Paolo out (like he said, it takes a lot to weird him out).

If you think that’s a power packed issue, wait ‘til you get your copy of Pulp’s October issue because there are more surprises inside and more bands like Neruda, Alamid, Maya’s Anklet, Ode to Laluna, Superkendi, Indaybote, and Murder Death Kill. Moreover, we also bring you the post-show coverage of Dutdutan 11 and a teaser feature of the Stagg Awards. Last but not the least, we had a friend who was in town doing monitors for David Archuleta, he also happened to play guitars for Saosin! Beau Burchell tells all with his interview with Niche Dumlao. Read on as he reveals what’s in store and the current status of his band, Saosin.
