ALEXI LAIHO – HE’S NOT THAT RECKLESS!

Formed in Espoo Finland in 1993, Children of Bodom is a band that will come only once in a generation. Their name came from a violent incident that shocked the whole nation when an alarming number of teenagers were found murdered in Lake Bodom. The band, previously named Ineathed, changed their name to Children of Bodom to get away from a bad record deal with a German label. After signing a record deal with Spinefarm Records, they released their debut album, Something Wild in 1997, the most technical of all COB records to date. Sophomore record Hatebreeder (1999) eventually went up the European album charts, while Follow the Reaper (2000) was distributed worldwide, putting COB on the metal map.
