URBANDUB
Sending A Message (MCA)

URBANDUB SENDS A HEATFELT TOKEN OF THANKS TO THEIR ARMY OF DUBISTAS
Eleven years, six albums and two major solo concerts later, The Sound of the South – Urbandub – has emerged as one of the most revered and loved Pinoy Rock bands in recent memory. The quartet of drummer Janjan Mendoza, guitarist John Dinopol, bassist Lalay Lim and frontman/guitarist Gabby Alipe has done it with their tight-as-hell live sets and impressive albums such as Influence and Embrace and songs such as “Soul Searching,” “Guillotin,” “Frailty,” “Gone,” and “First of Summer” among many others.
Which is why now would be a perfect time as any for the band to send a token of their appreciation to all their fans who stuck with them through all these years. This TeeDee (Shirt/EP) package is part of Sonic Shape’s ongoing campaign look for non-traditional ways to promote artists.
This TeeDee package centers, of course, on Urbandub’s new single “Sending A Message,” a driven anthem of love and appreciation. The music is textbook Urbandub – driven guitar riffs, hook-laden vocals arrangements (Alipe’s falsetos here packs the strongest punches) and heart-tugging lyrics (“Our tears run deep and they turn to ink / for all the songs that made you all sing / we’re sending a message”). The song also comes off as a “Message in a Bottle” for the Nick Automatic kids.
